Light & Fruity

Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Smooth & Supple

Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.

Earthy & Spicy

Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.

Big & Bold

Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.

Alcohol By Volume: 14.2%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Stunning aromas of violet, earth and spice with finely woven layers of succulent, pure fruit, this wine is both delicate and complex on the palate. Delicious with smoked salmon or beef carpaccio. Rosella's, and the neighboring Garys' Vineyard, both lie inland from Monterey Bay and greatly benefit from coastal weather conditions including foggy mornings and long, cool yet sunny days.

Critical Acclaim

"This is a terrific vineyard. Miner's '05 Rosella's is a deliciously compelling wine, dry and complex. With its gently polished tannins and adequate acidity, the blackberry, cherry, cola and cinnamon spice flavors are wrapped into a beautiful texture."
90 Points

"Floral strawberry scents meld with musky complexity in this wine. The tannins have an unusually saline character, a brininess that would match seared duck breast served with duck leg confit."
