Winemaker Notes
Individual vineyard lots were fermented separately and barrel aged in a combination of French and American oak for 17 months. A warm vintage gave us ripe Cabernet Sauvignon with aromas of ripe black fruit with a hint of cassis. The voluminous fruit carries through in the mouth. Barrel aging the wine brings hints of warm baking spices and adds depth and complexity. Powdery tannins give structure to the wine while maintaining an elegant, balanced mouthfeel. This wine shows great expression of the terroir of the Horse Heaven Hills.

The Mercer family homesteaded in Washington State and for over a century, we have been stewards of this land – always striving to provide a life more abundant for all. In 1972, we became the founding grape growers in the now famed Horse Heaven Hills AVA. In this tradition, the AGRICULTURALISTS of Mercer Estates are dedicated to producing distinctive wines through a balanced approach to grape growing and winemaking. In finding balance – in our land, our community and our wines – we are able to express the true characteristics of our vineyards in every glass.
