Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Very deep, youthfull color, intense almost purple hue. Very classic Rubicon nose with violets, ripe plum, cedarwood and intense spiceynesss. Still very young but brooding, promising further maturation potential. The palate is full bodied, structured but packed with fresh dark fruit and rounded, linear tannins.

Cellar Potential: 15 - 20 years, provided wine is stored in ideal cellar conditions

Critical Acclaim

"Ripe and dense, but sleek and focused, with a lovely core of mulled black currant, warm fig paste and tobacco, laced with mouthwatering dark olive and iron notes that help the finish stretch out nicely. Has solid grip in reserve, too. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Drink now through 2011. 1,400 cases imported."
