Winemaker's Notes:
Marquis Philips wines are the epitome of big, bold, no holds barred Australian red wines - all for under $20. Too much of a good thing? We think not! Get some of this new release before the high ratings (and with them, high prices) come out...
This wine was barrel fermented and matured for a total of 12 months in new American oak. The fruit was sourced from Padthaway, McLarenVale and Middleton, South Australia. Using 17 different oak treatments, the wine was blended together to achieve a very complex and well integrated wine.
Our Shiraz exhibits a huge array of flavours that covers the spectrum from fresh berry fruits, spice, chocolate and hints of liquorice. As you allow this wine to age, you will see the increase in the Chocolate and spice characters, and a developed fruit structure. |

About Marquis Phillips:
Marquis Philips is a collaboration between American Dan Philips and Australian winemakers to make the most delicious, power-packed wines on the planet. Marquis Philips began with a simple goal: to control the entire winemaking process, soup to nuts, from concept to vineyard, to market, to wine style, to price. The winemakers aim to create wines that are pleasure-giving, dark, ripe, sweet, gulpable, loud, yet subtle, sweet and gentle with a long finish, elegant, Turley-esque, and powerful. |
