Wine Style Guide

Light & Fruity

Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Smooth & Supple

Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.

Earthy & Spicy

Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.

Big & Bold

Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.

Winemaker's Notes

From 35 year old vines, this Malbec has a deep purple color with violet tints, complex plum, fig, strawberry, spices and floral aromas; rounded and velvety tannins, excellent length with a distinguished character. Excellent when paired with game, roasted red meats, pasta or pizza.

Critical Acclaim

"The 2008 Malbec is a glass-coating purple color with a striking perfume of violets, black cherry, and black raspberry. Exhibiting surprising complexity for its price category, the wine has gobs of fruit, savory flavors, and excellent depth and length. It is an outstanding value for drinking over the next 3-4 years."

Had this earlier in the week and thought that it was a great wine, especially at this price point. Nice nose. Good, complex flavors that you usually don't see for a $10 bottle. Very drinkable.

I had this last weekend and loved it. A very enjoyable complex but balanced taste on the palate, with a 15 sec finish. I went back to where I bought it to get more, and the owner of the store said he recently tried it and loved it! We are both surprised it's only $10

Yet it's hard not to get caught up in the wine market of the world and some...
