MacMurray Ranch Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2004
Pinot Noir
from Sonoma County, California
winemaker's notes:
California's Sonoma Coast is quickly becoming a premier growing region for Pinot Noir because of its soil and climate. MacMurray Ranch crafts wines from this region with elegance, finesse, and a distinctive sense of place.
This is a classic, bright Pinot Noir with good character and fresh fruit flavors. Expressive on the nose, this wine will reveal flavors of cherry, blackcurrant and black fruit. It is luscious and plentiful, with subtle vanilla notes that are well integrated to the fruit characteristics.
"...concentrated but gentle, with a roundness that lasts..."

This wine slightly dry and leaves a slight spicey aftertaste which I love. Kind of new to wine, but this one is one of my new favorites.

I'm new to wine tasting but I absolutely loved this wine. I may have been intially drawn to try this because of the movie "Sideways" but I'm glad I was. Smooth with no nasty tannis bite to it. A great purchase!
I know I'm not a learned taster but I thought it was just grand.
