Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

With deep ruby red color, this wine displays ripe red berries, spice and black pepper aromas. Its intense initial taste is complemented by the softness and sweetness of its tannins. It is a wine with a great body and structure.

Pair with roast or grilled red meat, venison, hard cheese.

Critical Acclaim

"Bright medium red. Aromas and flavors of redcurrant, cherry, spiced plum, menthol and smoky oak reminded me a bit of pinot noir. Juicy and pure in the mouth, with good cut and intensity and subtle floral perfume. Tangy, moderately intense malbec with harmonious acidity and easygoing tannins. On the light side and very easy to drink."
88 Points

"This medium-bodied red offers subtle depth to the bright berry and plum fruit, as hints of spice and grilled herb linger in the finish."
