Louis Martini Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2001
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California
"This winery, now owned by Gallo, has one of the great old Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards in northern California at their disposal, the Monte Rosso Vineyard. All of these Cabernets are relatively young, and reveal very good upside potential. For starters, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa possesses a dark ruby/purple color as well as a big, rich nose of black currant, loamy soil and underbrush scents, medium body and a firm structure. While accessible, it promises to evolve for 10-15 years."

Alcohol By Volume GuideMost wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.
