A full-bodied, aromatic Pinot Noir with a rich roundness of fruit and plump texture arrayed around a rigorous structure. This wine will develop favorably in the bottle for 12 to 15 years.
This wine has the structure to pair well with most meats, even those with strong sauces, as well as cheeses.
"The 2009 Beaune Boucherottes (on the border with Pommard) shows gorgeous vibrancy in its dark wild berries, violets and sweet spices. The aromas and flavors literally explode on the mid-palate. A big, broad-shouldered wine, the Pommard impresses for its powerful, authoritative personality and superb balance. Sweet, balsamic nuances linger on the textured finish. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2024.90-93 Points"

"Good full red-ruby. Nose combines some superripe notes with hints of pepper, fresh herbs and flinty minerality. Then ripe, broad and sweet on the palate, with good lift to the black cherry and spicy oak flavors. Finishes supple, pliant and very persistent, with suave tannins and a saline nuance. 88-91 points"

International Wine Cellar
"A fresh and perfumed if ripe nose of plum, raspberry and red cherry aromas introduces rich yet solidly well-detailed medium-bodied flavors that are shaped and supported by notably firm tannins that impart a moderately austere character to the mouth coating finish that stops just short of being slightly dry. I suspect that this will mature into a very good effort but unlike many examples from Beaune in 2009, this clearly is in need of cellar time to flesh out and blossom."
