Winemaker's Notes:
This wine has a pale amber yellow color, with golden highlights and a fine, steady flow of light bubbles. It also has an intense nose, clearly marked by the great northern Pinot Noirs from the Reims mountain: this includes citrus (zesty orange), floral notes (sweet flowers, such as hawthorn, with light rosy hints) and ripe juicy fruits (vine peach). On contact with air, more caramel notes appear (baked apple, tatin, roasted almond) as well as some woody hints. The wine is dense and winey in the mouth, with the very mature sweet bite that is natural to Pinots Noirs, expressing its unique, full-bodied and smooth personality. The soft, warm notes (hazelnut and almond) blend with the ripe fruit. The fine, well-balanced bubbles quickly add balance to this winey structure. The mineral, almost iodine freshness is pronounced in the middle of the mouth, adding to the sense of balance with an extremely long, racy, smooth finish. |
