The property was created in 1997 to channel the sales of 6 of the region’s best cooperatives. Many of these cooperatives were created just after the creation of the D.O., and in the last 10 years have made tremendous strides in quality standards. Today, as a result of lower yields and the aid of one of Europe’s most-respected wine consultants, the property has become a benchmark estate in the zone.

The Los Planos (“The Plains” in Spanish) bottling is a custom cuvee created by Eric Solomon and Jean-Marc Lafage. It is made from pure Syrah which is one of the varietals that thrives the best in the region, particularly because it is able to achieve a high degree of fruit concentration while still retaining an elegance and delineation which make it unique. Even though the days in the area can be quite hot, the nights cool down drastically, allowing for fruit with lower degrees of alcohol than other plantings in the more central part of the country.
