Loom Shiraz 2006

The 2006 Harvest was characterised by its abundant crop of flavoursome well ripened fruit. The resultant wines have terrific colour and varietal characters and appear at this stage to be well suited to long term cellaring.

A full bodied dry red wine with a rich fruit driven middle palate and warm, oak influenced finish.

This is pretty much quintessential Australian Shiraz, big, rich and loaded with fruit. This said, what I really like is the savoury influence of our Blewitt Springs fruit which tends to be a bit lighter in structure and with more minerality which I feel adds a significant level of complexity to this wine.

Will drink well any time over the next 8 – 10 years.
