Wine Style Guide

Light & Fruity

Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Smooth & Supple

Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.

Earthy & Spicy

Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.

Big & Bold

Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.

Winemaker's Notes

Deep and rich in color, Liquid Velvet Red Blend showcases aromas and flavors of dark, rich fruit such as cherry, a hint of dark cocoa and spice. It finishes with a velvety smooth texture, balanced structure and a satisfyingly long finish. The perfect pairing for a delicious grilled steak enjoyed by candlelight.

For those who like a little bit of sugar, the 2011 Lockwood Liquid Velvet is pretty good. Yes, this not exactly a dry wine, but soft and endearing. Made from Merlot, with Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine plays nicely on the palate
