Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The 2012 Sorbo a Sorbo Garnacha displays intense aromas and flavors of ripe cherry, raspberry, and currant, with subtle balsamic and mineral notes that add pleasantly to the complexity. A fresh, accessible wine with lingering, bright fruit on the finish. Beautifully balanced, elegant and delicious

Critical Acclaim

"A smooth red, with harmonious black cherry, dark chocolate, black olive and mineral notes. Fruity, with an appealing savory element. Modest tannins and firm acidity keep this balanced."
