Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Livernano's flagship wine, it is a blend of grapes from the best Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese parcels. Majestic and ageworthy, it offers richly fruited aromatics and powerful structure.

Complex aromas of balsam and mint with faint grassy, fruity nuances. The very fleshy, fruitled palate has fine tannins and a finish that develops impressively.

Blend: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 5% Sangiovese

Critical Acclaim

"Aromas of blackberry, cherry and currant follow through to a medium-bodied palate, with fine tannins and a clean finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. Best after 2007. 500 cases made."
