Winemaker's Notes:
A youthful straw green colour. Sweet lifted fruit with notes of citrus blossom and a fine savoury freshness are immediately apparent on the bouquet. There is also an interesting touch of cloves indicating the barrel fermentation of a considerable part of the Sauvignon Blanc. On the palate the fresh fruit is predominant with a crisp nicely balanced finish. This is a delicately complex wine with inputs from both varieties marrying into this particularly unique style, new to Leeuwin Estate. The Sauvignon Blanc 52% - Semillon 48% is ideally drunk with a full bodied shellfish such as lobster or poached scallops with lemon beurre blanc. Also an ideal apéritif wine. |
