Tasty blend, not too sweet, not too heavy, with the unmistakable flavor of Malvasia grapes. A taste of sunshine for any hour of the day.
This madiera is inexpensive and delicious. Europeans look down their noses at the “Rainwater” style of Madeira, but what do they know? If you buy this, be prepared for the heavier and concentrated flavor of this dryer fortified wine. This stuff also has the advantage of staying fresh for months in your fridge. A 200 year old bottle that was once owned by Thomas Jefferson was opened a few years ago and was still drinkable.
This was my first Madeira, and I'm really happy with it. I can best describe it as similar to a tawny port, but with a hint of citric acid. I love tawny, but I think I might like this even more. Nice price, too.
