Winemaker Notes

Beautiful red/purple color with aromas of black cherries, dark fruits, dark chocolate and baker's spice. On the palate, the wine shows dense dark berry and plum flavors along with hints of sandalwood and spice, and even a hint of violets in the finish. Don't be concerned if you find yourself inhaling deeply from your glass, over and over—it is just your nose's way of telling you that it wants its fair share!

This is a full-bodied and well-structured wine that is incredibly full of life and born to be enjoyed with food and friends. Goes great with everything from hamburgers and chicken to pizza and mild cheeses. An awesome value to boot.

Underbrush, incdense, spice box, and black cherry; excellent flavors in need of more depth.

La Posta Winery Video

Argentina’s best small-family growers express their individual passions with single-grower, single-vineyard wines. Each wine named after a grower family demonstrates the wide range of Malbec aroma and flavor profiles generated by distinct Mendoza appellations.

La Posta translates to “the tavern,” where the farmers meet to discuss their soils, their vines, their quest for superior flavors, and their passions for life. In collaboration with wine pioneer Laura Catena and esteemed winemaker Luis Reginato, the hard work and skill of the people behind the wines are expressed in La Posta.

Most distinguished and celebrated from Argentina’s Mendoza, Malbec has seen runaway success since the early 2000s. Mendoza’s agreeable, continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold snowy winters allows the perfect conditions for growing outstanding Malbec. This grape is easy to like for its lusty, deep flavors and aromas of blackberry, plum, red cherry, autumn spice and tilled earth. It’s easy to find delicious, fruit-driven, affordable everyday examples and in prices beyond, quite exceptional ones with dense, supple textures that make them capable of aging.
