Winemaker Notes

A brilliant ruby red in color, the wine shows aromas of berry fruit. In particular, blackberries and black currants are featured alongside spice notes. Supple on the palate, it is laden with robust blackberry and red berry fruit in addition to tobacco, spice and tannic acidity. Its firm tannins make for a savory and mineral-forward wine.

Blend: 90% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot

A beautiful and silky Vino Nobile with depth of fruit, lemon peel and mineral character. Full body, firm tannins and a fresh finish. Drink or hold.
  • 90
La Braccesca's 2012 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a very pretty wine that is endowed with sweet cherry fruit and simple spice. Montepulciano saw less rain in this vintage compared to other years and the wine reveals sweet, plush tannins as a result. This is a soft and velvety expression that would pair with grilled steaks or sausage.

Sangiovese and 10% Merlot are behind this vibrant, medium-bodied red. Aromas of ripe plum and clove follow through to the firm palate alongside juicy black cherry, ripe raspberry, ground pepper and grilled herb. It’s interwoven with tightly knit but polished tannins while subtle notes of mint and espresso back up the finish.

La Braccesca Winery Image

Located few kilometers from Montepulciano, where southeastern Tuscany borders Umbria and Lazio, La Braccesca Estate is immersed in a pristine environment greatly loved and admired by travelers from all over the world. Montepulciano is the land of renowned "Vino Nobile", a wine appreciated already centuries ago by the Medici family. In the early 1990s, the Marchesi Antinori brought their experience, respect for tradition and capacity for innovation to this land of history and culture.

One of La Braccesca's strengths is the harmony between the past and the future, reached through a strong knowledge of winemaking and a infinite passion for quality. These qualities represent the mission statement of a young dynamic winery in one of the most prestigious winemaking areas of Italy.

Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.

A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
