Winemaker Notes

Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir is a luscious mouth-filling wine. It is deeply structured with supple tannins centered in the mid-palate. A sweet and sour mix of red and black fruits, such as penetrating red cherry and blackberry dominate, ending in a clean strawberry and dark cherry finish.

Professional Ratings

  • 92
A beautiful effort that certainly competes with the single-vineyard releases, the 2012 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands offers up a gorgeous bouquet of black cherries, black raspberry, wild herbs, rose petal and Asian spice to go with a medium-bodied, layered, balanced and rich palate feel. Rounded, with solid richness and upfront fruit, this knockout Pinot Noir will drink nicely for over a decade.
  • 91
Presents a rich, powerful display of blackberry, raspberry, spice and floral scents, with touches of smoky oak, anise and dusty earth and a long, persistent finish.
