Somm Note

Winemaker Notes

This layered, complex, beauty of a wine shows rich aromas of wild anise and wisps of bergamot, mingled with the red and dark fresh fruit components of bing cherries, black raspberry, and a hint of rose petal. This Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is pure, balanced, lush and focused. On the front are delicate notes of cherries and rose hips that blossom to cola, pomegranate and sun drenched raspberries, culminating with chocolate dipped oranges that coats the palate and lingers long after.

Professional Ratings

  • 92
Combines a tight, firm framework and a complex mix of dark berry, anise, gravel, road tar and savory herb notes, finishing with a long, clean, layered aftertaste. Should reward short-term cellaring. Drink now through 2020.
