Kosta Browne Russian River Pinot Noir 2007
Pinot Noir from Russian River, California
Wine Style Guide
Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.
Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.
Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.
Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.
Aromas of fresh cherry, bright strawberry, kirsch and a hint of rich brown spices and stone fruit offer a forward introduction. The first sip delivers a complex rush of flavors - rich raspberry, ripe Bing cherries and soft notes of cinnamon saturate and spread evenly around the palate. A slight hint of minerals, supported by soft tones of orange zest and sassafras are revealed through the silky finish. While the flavors are intense, it's abalanced and sexy wine.
"Firm, tight, elegant and understated, this offers fresh, vibrant flavors of black cherry, wild berry and raspberry."
"This remarkably well-concentrated wine is endowed with black cherry fruit as its primary focus and adds in caramel and crème brûlée richness alongside hints of toffee and dried spices. It is full but not heavy on the palate and already exhibits the wonderfully lush texture of fine Pinot Noir. Deep and flavorful, open and quite accessible, structured for aging and able to be enjoyed today, this is a wine to be remembered."
"Vivid red. Intensely spicy aromas of black raspberry, cherry skin, anise and white pepper. Lush and sweet, with deep, focused red and dark berry flavors, silky texture and a late kick of brown spices. I really like this wine's energy and finishing clarity."
