Alcohol By Volume Guide
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.
Brick red in color with youthful crimson tints.
This wine has a lifted and powerful nose, combined with a rich tapestry of dark chocolate, sweet plum fruits and the seductive qualities of charry French oak maturation. Textural and complex in style, its dark fruits, chocolate and licorice notes interwoven with its fine French oak flavors, preceding a persistent and classy finish.
"Despite some slightly raisiny notes, this wine also displays some exotic floral aromas, then bold flavors of stone fruit and chocolate. It's full bodied without seeming heavy at all, ending long, with savory plum and mocha shadings. Drink now - 2016."
"Smooth in texture, dripping with ripe, tarry, licorice-accented blackberry and plum
flavors. Finishes on a meaty note."
"Opaque ruby. Smoky, penetrating aromas of raspberry, cherry, licorice and black pepper. Spicy and tightly wound on entry, then gains flesh and sweetness in the mid-palate, offering juicy red fruit flavors and a late note of black cardamom. Finishes with very good grip and a lingering note of smoky minerals. This improved with air, which suggests that it will repay patience."
