Judging from the positive reviews of the 2005 vintage, the 2006 is a step down. I purchased my bottle at Safeway for $17.99. It was extremely lemony, bitter on the finish, and did not improve with the 2nd glass. The back of the bottle advertises its French oak heritage -- mostly absent in the first glass and gone in the 2nd. There is no butterscotch or buttery flavor. For a reference, try St. Supery. I see the winemaker's notes on wine.com differ from the notes on the back of the bottle, which I read at the point of sale, so I suspect the marketing folks at K-J are not in touch with the winemaker's pronouncements. In this price range, there are more balanced chardonnays to be had.
