Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.
Full of mineral aromas, giving in to deep flavors - think tobacco, blackberry, earth and cool campfire. Medium bodied yet full flavored with a long firm finish.
"The 2010 Syrah Milbrandt Vineyard was fermented with 50% whole cluster and aged for 12 months in around 25% new French oak. Coming from the Northridge and Sundance Vineyards, it offers a pretty, perfumed bouquet of black cherry, raspberry, underbrush, flowers and hints of pepper to go with a medium to full-bodied, Up-front and elegant palate. Lively, delicious and easy drinking, it should be enjoyed over the coming 5-7 years."
