The 2007 growing season was long and dry, yielding small berries with tremendous flavor and concentration. This wine has more depth and power than the 2006 Freestone Pinot Noir, along with the typical structure and elegance of the Sonoma Coast terroir. The wine exudes layers of sandalwood, anise, cassis and dried tea leaves. Its density lingers on the palate and offers flavors of plum, bing cherries, black tea and tobacco, while the finish provides the spicy and earthy characteristics that are typical of Freestone wines.
"Good full red. Pungent herbs and spices lift blackberry and violet aromas. Juicy, ripe and spicy, with noteworthy energy to the red berry flavors. Nicely combines sweetness and grip, finishing long and bright, with suave tannins."
International Wine Cellar
"A fresh, elegant and pure nose of extract of red pinot fruit that does carry a whiff of crushed leaf as well as a discreet spice component that is followed by suave, detailed and lightly mineral-suffused middle weight flavors that display a lovely sense of underlying restraint and excellent length on the dusty and sappy finish. This is more Burgundian in style as there is a touch of backend austerity that allows this to be quite food friendly. Worth a look."

The atmosphere of Sonoma is decidedly laid back and down home country style. But in wines, they are keeping up with the...Read More About Sonoma County
