Our wine experts have gathered three great bottles of the stellar 2005 vintage from the master of Burgundy, Joseph Drouhin, and paired them with two bottles of fruit-filled Cru Beaujolais, and a Premier Cru Chablis to create one of the best deals ever from this exceptional, but too often pricey, region.
Perfect for anyone wanting to explore some of the best wines of Burgundy without spending a fortune. Experience finely textured Pinot Noir, steely Chablis, richly concentrated Mersault and fruit filled Cru Beaujolais. Priced at well below regular retail, this collection allows you to sample some of the best Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Gamay Noir in the world - a must for any wine lover!
Each collection contains one bottle of:
2005 Cote De Beaune Villages
From the highly touted 2005 vintage, this is a wonderful example of Burgundian Pinot Noir with delicate flavors of red berries and a silky texture.
This will show you why Chardonnay is the only variety grown in Meursault! A luminous gold colour, intense fragrance and refined flavors. It is full bodied without being heavy, with a long lasting finish. Ageworthy.
2005 Cote de Beaune
As everywhere in the Côte d'or, Pinot Noir is the only grape variety used in this famous appellation. This is a wine of purity and finesse - bing cherry, rose petal, raspberry and red currant on the noise and palate.
Chablis Premier Cru
Laser like precision, with intense flavors of orange, lemon, coriander and peach. Wow - what a Chardonnay!
2 bottles of Brouilly or Moulin-a-Vent
These "Cru Beaujolais" are dark garnet in color, and packed with aromas and flavors of ripe blackberry, violet, and raspberry syrup. Perfect with roast chicken.
