Wine Style Guide

Light & Fruity

Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Smooth & Supple

Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.

Earthy & Spicy

Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.

Big & Bold

Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.

Winemaker's Notes

The 2006 LaForet Pinot Noir has a brilliant ruby-garnet color. The nose offers effusive aromas of crushed berries (raspberry, redcurrant, and blackcurrant come to mind). On the palate, the wine is full of charm and very pleasant to drink - fresh and fruity berry flavors with light and elegant tannins.

Easy to match with food, this wine is be best with assorted delicatessen meats, poultry, other white meat, "au gratin" dishes, roasted meat and soft cheeses.

The most delicious wine tasted. The color was not a dark red, but a bright red and the taste was fresh and light. Definitely the best pinot noir I have ever tasted. Will buy it again.

Lots of fruit, mostly current, but doesn't scream at you. Open it a half hour before drinking, and you'll be hooked!
