An elegant wine. Brilliant color, with hints of green. Typical Chablis nose, where aromas of citrus (lemon) fern and even salty sensations predominate. On the palate: vigorous and lively, but in a soft mode. A lot of finesse and balance.
"This captures the pure Chablisenne essence of limestone. The pale marine earthiness is balanced by succulent fresh apple flavor, deepened by leesy scents of roasted hazelnuts and gingery spice. It's broad rich and toasty, a complex young wine that will only gain with bottle age."
Wine & Spirits
"A toasty and buttery wine that is initially smooth and silky. It’s only on the mid-palate that the tauter, more steely character of Chablis comes through. With fresh acidity, this easily combines both ripeness and mouthwatering crispness. "
Light & Crisp
Stoic and steely yet sedate, this fine Chablis would benefit from a bit more cellaring time. Still, the crisp minerality of this wine, well chilled, makes for a fine aperatif. I would give it a B-. Not one of Joseph Drouhin's better offerings.
