Winemaker's Notes:

From the first vintage in 1976, Tom Jordan has sought to create a soft, approachable Cabernet Sauvignon in which the winemaking is simply a logical completion of nature's work. With this in mind, Jordan Vineyard & Winery has successfully maintained a tradition of producing elegant, refined Bordeaux-style Cabernet Sauvignon in Northern California's Alexander Valley.

The continued addition of fruit from hillside vineyards and the blending of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot with the Cabernet Sauvignon is responsible for the well integrated flavors, deep color and full mouth feel of the 2003 vintage. The vibrant blueberry qualities of the Petit Verdot marry well with the soft, alluring flavors of Merlot and contribute to the complexity of the masculine, tannic nature of the Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2003 Cabernet is very rich in texture with opulent flavors, a restrained framework of oak and a lingering finish of subtle earth, cigar tobacco and cedar.

About Jordan Vineyard & Winery:

In 1972, Tom and Sally Jordan, a young couple from Colorado who shared an unbridled enthusiasm for French food and wine, followed their hearts to California’s wine country. Since their inaugural 1976 vintage, the Jordans have been heralded for their elegant wines, culinary excellence and gracious hospitality. Jordan Vineyard & Winery lies tucked into the hills of Alexander Valley in Sonoma County, where the iconic Jordan chateau, inspired by the great estates of France, overlooks 1,200 acres of rolling hills and vineyards with three quarters of the land dedicated to natural habitat. Today, second-generation vintner John Jordan continues to build upon the legacy of his parents, preserving the timeless winemaking qualities of balance, finesse and food affinity.
