Deep red in color, almost inky. The bouquet exudes red fruit, blackberries, black currants and hints of tobacco. The palate is rich, concentrated and spicy; persistent aromas of red fruit and licorice add elegance to the structure. This wine will benefit from two to three years' cellaring.
Pairs well with all game and red meats.
"Almost raw with its youth, with a massive core of plum, black cherry and cassis flavors that are remarkably pure and intense, all wrapped with sweet tapenade, maduro tobacco and iron. The finish is long and sleek. Best from 2013 through 2018."
"An excellent introduction to the wines of Cornas, this is a gently structured example, but one that shows ample complexity. Coffee, herb and green olive notes intertwine with a smoky, bacon-like element. An espresso note and soft tannins linger on the finish. Drink now–2020."
