We have added the following products to your shopping cart from a previous visit:
Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.
Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.
Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.
Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.
The color is deep red, almost inky. Red fruit aromas abound, as well as blackberries, black currants and hints of tobacco. The wine has a rich, concentrated and spicy taste; persistent red fruit and licorice add elegance to
the structure. This wine will benefit from two to three years' cellaring.
Pairs well with all game and red meats.
"Although this comes off younger vines than the Louvee, this 2008 is remarkably impressive right now. Although it's hugely extracted, a deep pool of black, plummy juice, it's also shapely, traced by ferrous minerality and firmed with powerful tannins. It comes off chewy and supple, spicy and smooth, a fascinating - and deilcious - exercise in contradictions."
Wine & Spirits
"Ripe, pure and driven, with brisk raspberry, red cherry and red currant fruit laced with iron and maduro tobacco notes. The long, fine-grained finish has a lingering chalky hint. Drink now through 2016.
"This is Colombo's entry-level Cornas in the U.S., and is a more-than-solid effort from a challenging vintage. Beefy aromas lead the way, with hints of espresso and black olive, adding some cassis and blueberry fruit. This is amply concentrated and firm, with a dusty, lingering finish. Drink 2013-2020."
"Deep ruby. A smoky, intensely perfumed bouquet displays cherry, red berry preserves, cola, violet and herbs. Juicy, focused and spicy, offering nicely concentrated cherry and raspberry flavors and a touch of finishing smokiness. A bitter cherry note lingers on the sappy, yet refreshingly brisk finish. This is showing a lot more energy than it did last year."

A native of Marseilles, Colombo first developed a strong admiration for the wines of the Rhone Valley in the late 1970s as a pharmacy student. A devotee of the Syrah grape, Colombo was convinced that the northern Rhone appellation of Cornas offered enormous and, at the time, unrecognized potential for producing super-quality Syrah wines. After earning degrees in pharmacy and...Read More About Jean-Luc Colombo
Talk about potential... the appellation of Cornas is lesser-known than its northern counterparts, but has the ability to make delicious, hearty, long-lasting wines. The hills of Cornas are steep and hug the Rhone river, as many Northern Rhone appellations do. Cornas is typically best when aged for up to 10 years, although pioneer winemakers, like Jean-Luc Columbo...Read More About Cornas
(seh-RAH/shee-RAHZ) It's a Smokin' Grape Syrah and Shiraz - same grape, different name. It's a popular and adept variety, growing in multiple regions and creating many different styles of wine. The home base of Syrah is the Northern Rhone, where it creates the exclusive wines of Hermitage and Cote Rotie. On the less pricy side, the Rhone makes Syrah-based wines in Crozes...Read More About Syrah/Shiraz
