Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Jacob's Creek Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is deep crimson red with purple hues. This wine exhibits typical regional characteristics of mint and blackberry aromas with ripe cassis flavors ad a hint of black olive. An ideal accompaniment to osso bucco, beef rib roast or mature cheeses.

Critical Acclaim

"Good crimson-purple; an attractive, sweet-fruited, medium-bodied wine, its Coonawarra parentage not in doubt; mint, mulberry, blackcurrant and black olive are all contributors to the central story, finely judged tannins bringing it to a close."
