Winemaker's Notes:
The grapes are grown in several parcels belonging to the two sisters of Jean Jacques Vincent. In addition, wines from the youngest vines of the Château-Fuissé itself — 5-15 year old vines — are blended into "Marie Antoinette". The wine is named in honor of Jean-Jacques's mother, Marie-Antoinette Vincent. The stony soils of the Vergisson vineyards give the wine refreshing acidity, elegance and a mineral undertone, while the clay soils in the Fuissé vineyards lend full bodied structure and a generous fruit character. The wine is vinified in small oak barrels by Jean-Jacques Vincent, owner of Château Fuissé, who blends the different origins to make a delicious, well-balanced Pouilly Fuisse.
The wine has white flower aromas and round, fresh, mineral flavors on the palate, with a clean and balanced character. Pairs well with fish, seafood, chicken and goat's milk cheeses. |
