Winemaker's Notes:
The 2004 J. Lohr Estates Riverstone Chardonnay has an attractive, youthful, brassy yellow color. The fresh aromas of lime zest, pear, nectarine and apple, combined with the butter, caramel and vanilla bouquet from the barrel fermentation, malolactic fermentation and sur lie aging, create a Chardonnay of almost laser-like intensity. The flavors are very clean with citrus, pear and apple-nectarine with subtle butter and toasty vanilla, producing layers of complexity with an excellent balance of fresh fruit acidity and palate weight. Riverstone is ideal for pairing with richly textured fish and shellfish or cream-sauced pasta dishes. |
