Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The wildest of the Iron Horse Sparklings and surprisingly dry. Bold and vibrant in both color and taste, it is pure exuberance. The color and richness come from cold soaking the Pinot Noir on the skins.

Critical Acclaim

"Unusually deep in color for a rose. Shows a similar richness in the flavors, which are strong in raspberries, strawberries, limes and vanilla. The blend is 81% Pinot Noir, with the balance Chardonnay. Basically dry, this complex, elegant young sparkling wine could develop in the bottle."
