Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Chenin Blanc is South Africa's most widely planted varietal and the Cape's signature white. This fresh, vibrant version offers luscious flavors of tropical fruit, melon and honeyed pear, backed by bright citrus flavors. Lively peppery notes and an underlying mineral character shine through on the finish.

We tried this in a blind taste test with chardonnay and pinot grigio, no one guessed this was a Chenin Blanc! But, everyone loved it and so did I! Perfect warm weather wine. At this price, but a case and share with friends!!

This organization seemed to favor quantity over quality and had most...
