Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The extended 2006 vintage resulted in a rare combination of robust yields and great quality. A long, warm and dry growing season in the Willamette Valley fully ripened the Pinot Noir grapes, leading to beautiful balance and concentrated flavors. This wine has a brilliant garnet color with supple body, bright red cherry nose with cherry blossom topnotes and a hint of exotic spices like cardamom and star anise. Smooth entry with even texture through to the finish with red cherry flavors.
