Critical Acclaim

"This is gorgeous. Smooth, rich, ripe and loaded with complex flavors. Black cherry, blackberry, plum, cloves, coffee, spice, chocolate, licorice, anise, menthol and eucalyptus all weave a kaleidoscope of taste for a tantalizing, heady and satisfying wine. Velvety tannins frame it all, leaving it long and lush at the end. Just when you think it's over, a new wave of plum, chocolate, toast and vanilla teases the palate for an even longer finish."
95 Points

"A strong effort for the vintage, the dark ruby/purple-colored 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon reveals aromas of sweet creme de cassis intermixed with notions of creosote and earth."
90 Points

"Good saturated medium ruby. Briary black raspberry, violet, licorice, cocoa powder and fresh herbs on the nose. Dense, fat and spicy, with superripe flavors of black raspberry and black cherry syrup. A rather chunky wine with impressive sweetness for the year. Finishes with chewy but ripe tannins and notes of candied violet and chocolate. Made by Bob Foley, who is also responsible for the Pride Mountain Vineyards wines."

The area was settled by a few choice wine families in the 1960's who bet that the wines of the area would grow and flourish. They were right. The Napa wine industry really took off in the 1980's, when vineyard...

Perhaps that title is due to its ability to grow worldwide in a number of climates, or to the fact that it produces wine with such character yet such diversity. Either way, this grape is responsible, as a whole or a partner, for some of the greatest wines in the world. In Bordeaux,...
