The 2010 Miss Harry continues the success of this beautifully structured, fruit-concentrated red wine that absolutely delivers with integrity, intrigue, class and complexity in a very approachable style.
The color of 2010 Miss Harry is bright red with a deep purple hue. The aroma is of black berry and red and black forest berries, pepper, spice, garrigue, dried lavender and herbs with layers of creamy complexity offered by the extended barrel maturation on lees.
The palate is wonderfully full, showing ripe black berries, strawberries and plums, and has a concentrated core of fruit essence with a racy acidity that gives the wine incredible vivacity. The finish is long, continuous and fresh. 2010 Miss Harry is quite an exceptional wine and is absolutely world-class.
Blend: 44% Grenache, 39% Shiraz, 8% Mourvedre, 4% Carignan, 4% Cinsault
"Predominantly grenache and shiraz, with small amounts of mourvedre, carignan and cinsaut, sourced from 25 separate vineyard plots, five over 100 years old, half of the remainder over 50 years old. Medium-bodied, there is wonderful tension between the array of predominantly black fruits and the savoury tannins on the finish. The only question is why it is so underpriced."
Australian Wine Companion
"Dean Hewitson taps centenarian vines for this blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Carignane and Cinsault. Its bright ripeness delivers sweet fruit across a broad, sunny palate, then turns savory in the end, buzzing with a gentle energy. The supple flavors of cassis and blueberries merge with rich oak tannins, deftly integrated and satisfying. For a mixed grill."
Wine & Spirits
"Bright ruby. Aromas of blackberry, candied cherry and Asian spices, with suave floral and anise nuances adding complexity. Juicy and broad on the palate, offering intense dark berry flavors lifted by zesty acidity. Becomes spicier with air and finishes with excellent clarity and persistence, leaving fruitcake and cherry-cola notes behind."
International Wine Cellar
"Some berry and chocolate character on the nose and palate. Medium to full body, with firm tannins and a fresh finish. Subtle and very drinkable. Better in 2013. From Grenache, Shiraz, Mouvedre, Carignan and Cinsault."
"This GSM blend includes bits of Carignan and Cinsault. It’s a full-bodied, supple wine intended for youthful consumption, with a long, mouthwatering finish. Raspberry and cherry fruit is balanced by savory notes of earth and mocha. Drink now–2016."
