Winemaker David Guffy crafted the Hess Select Cabernet Sauvignon with notable richness, intensity and varietal character, showing jammy dark fruit aromas of Bing cherry with cedary barrel notes and a touch of spice. A rich, round entry with ripe plum and raspberry in the forefront and a rich mid-palate with soft tannins on the finish. The wine is complex, yet imminently drinkable.
Any dish incorporating sweet peppers, caramelized onions or roasted Portobello mushrooms, a hearty bacon burger with blue cheese, barbecued shrimp, mild blue cheeses and cheddar cheese.
