Blend: 40% Shiraz, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc grown in the Barossa.
Deep crimson in colour. Spicy sweet aromas of plums, anise, blueberries and cassis with hints of smoky tar, vanilla, cedar and minty nuances. The palate is sweet and ripe with lush blackberry fruits, complex with excellent depth and concentration, velvety fine-grained tannins and excellent length. Drink now through 2011. Enjoy with Penang curry with grilled beef.
"The 2004 Keyneton Estate “Euphonium” Shiraz is purple-colored with fragrant aromas of toast, black cherry, scorched earth, pencil lead, and blueberry. Tightly knit but well balanced, it will need 5-7 years in the cellar to unwind and reveal its full potential. At that point, my score will look conservative.
