Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

A classic Alsatian grape variety, this Gewürztraminer is replete with the many intriguing aromas of flowers, fruits and spices. It follows with a rich palate and vivid fruit flavors which are complimented by a full body that transitions into a long and pleasant finish.

Food Pairing: Spicy Asian cuisine, Chilean sea bass, smoked oysters, quiche Lorraine, roasted chicken, turkey or as either an aperitif or digestive.

Critical Acclaim

"Offers lots of spice, with curry and white pepper notes and candied orange and cherry, rose petal and lychee flavors. This is a plump, juicy version that finds good balance. The finish is tangy. Drink now. 10,000 cases made."

Great wine that reminds me of a good Torrontes, but without the citrus taste. It does have a taste that reminds me of freshly cut hay or grass.
