Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Offers great depth of fruit and plenty of spice and vanilla character from 12 months aging in French and American oak barrels.

Critical Acclaim

"Deep ruby-red. Aromas of crushed blueberry, violet and fruity dark chocolate are lifted by smoky minerals. Sweet and sexy, with a velvety texture and very good lift to the sweet dark berry and floral flavors. Attractively fruity, with good back end-cut and a very long finish."

Style: Smooth & Supple
Delicious light bodied red with a burst of cherry berry cocoa cedar flavor and an extra long super smooth finish. Lush inviting nose and a silky smooth mouth feel. Excellent value, I would buy a case if I could find one.

There are 4 red varieties and 3 white varieties allowed in the Rioja DOC. Tempranillo definitely takes center stage, followed by Garnacha...
