Winemaker's Notes

Dense dark red to black colour of great intensity. An intense and rich bouquet led by the ripest cassis and berry fruits, rich and opulent but brooding in its youth. Behind the primary fruits are distinctive vineyard characteristics of dark chocolate and mint. The oak is background cedar which will recede further as the fruits emerge with some bottle age. This vineyard consistently produces intense fleshy and full mid palate Cabernet with massive fruit weight with dark cherry and blackcurrant flavours. At the time of writing the wine is very youthful and tight but it still has ample fruit sweetness that will only become more accessible as the wine matures in bottle. This is a big full wine with ample flavour and concentration in the classic Margaret River tradition.

Critical Acclaim

"Classic Margaret River cabernet, with abundant blackcurrant fruit and firm tannins to give structure and balance; 18 months in French oak. Screwcap."

Interesting nose; very good first day; continued good the next day and I became fascinated with it. A very good cabernet; probably one of the best I have tried. Better than many that I have tried that are nearly triple the price.

Learn About Margaret River

Located in the southwest area of Western Australia, the country's largest state, Margaret River wine growing region is on a peninsula jutting out into the Indian Ocean. The climate is reminiscent of Bordeaux in some ways, leading many winemakers to plant grapes of that nature, such as Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot. Other varieties that have found results are Chardonnay & Riesling.

Learn About Cabernet Sauvignon

Either way, this grape is responsible, as a whole or a partner, for some of the greatest wines in the world. In Bordeaux,...
