Wine Style Guide

Light & Fruity

Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Smooth & Supple

Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.

Earthy & Spicy

Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.

Big & Bold

Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.

Winemaker's Notes

Deep purple-red in color, this wine has aromas of bitter chocolate, cedar and a hint of mint. The palate is complemented by black fruit, rosemary and laurel notes. Well-balanced with smooth tannins, this wine is drinkable immediately.

Critical Acclaim

"The 2010 Hussonet Cabernet Sauvignon is a ripe, somehow unusual Cabernet Sauvignon with aromas of flowers, lavender and thyme, ripe blueberries and plums, perfumed and quite showy, a little intoxicating. The palate is medium-bodied, with a velvety texture provided by some soft tannins and with good acidity and liveliness, with the typical herbal finish of Cabernet. Unusual, very pleasant and great value."

This could help explain why the climate changes more from east to west than north to south - also why the country has remained phylloxera free....

Perhaps that title is due to its ability to grow worldwide in a number of climates, or to the fact that it produces wine with such character yet such diversity. Either way, this grape is responsible, as a whole or a partner, for some of the greatest wines in the world. In Bordeaux,...
