Earthy & Spicy

Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.

Big & Bold

Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.

Winemaker's Notes

Deep red with cherry edges. Aroma of fruits of the forest shrouded in chocolate, vanilla, milk coffee, nut and wood spice. Velvety in the nose and mouth. Body, elegance and balance. An outstanding wine!

Four and a half stars! This wine is lovely with a minimal amount of breathing time. Beautiful color (ruby to purple). 2006 was, apparently, a fine year for Garnacha. I bought a case of this wine as a "flyer" because a less expensive Garnacha was not available, same vintage and region. This wine, however, is even better! Smooth, with just enough bite to stand up to the most robust dinner; loaded with fruit, dry and delectable. I bought another case!

This 2006 Garnacha was a total surprise to me. I ordered it on the consideration of some research performed and an adventurous spirit. Wow! It was very smooth no acids or tannins to speak about and very delicious. I pared it with a nice plate of penne pasta with spinach, diced tomatoes, garlic and oil and grilled chicken breast. Superb! The high alcohol contend is a plus. When I order this next, it will definitely be a case. Cheers!
