"Bright purple. Lively and fragrant, displaying aromas of redcurrant, cherry, pipe tobacco and dried violet. Juicy and focused, with good depth and sweetness to its red fruit preserve flavors. Shows a refreshingly bitter quality on the penetrating finish, which lingers with impressive vibrancy and length. This wine shows the graceful side of Cote-Rotie and drinks very well right now. Incidentally, the 2007 version of this wine is still quite primary and in need of at least another five years of patience based on a bottle that Guigal showed me. "
