Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The subtle fruity aromas and the freshness of the Demi-Sec drives the character of this light bodied, semi-dry sparkling wine. The palate carries through with a creamy sensation and vivid flavor of green apples, ripe pears, pineapple and a hint of mineral. It is delicate, lively and elegant! Winemaker's Note: Toasty bouquet, light and elegant with good acidity, exotic fruit flavors.

Very nice sparkling wine! Husband even enjoyed it and he normally does not like sparkling wine. Not to dry nor to sweet.

I just moved to New Mexico and wanted to get a taste of the local wines. Gruet is far and away the leader in the State and their sparkling wines are not to be missed. My wife and I prefer sparkling wines that are NOT super dry and this one fit the bill perfectly. Great balance with a refreshing finish make this one a staple in our fridge and you should give it a try as well.

In producing non-vintage wines, Champagne houses strive to keep the taste consistent year by year, and non-vintage wine provides the winemakers flexibility in blending, ensuring a constant style each year. Non-vintage Champagne...
