Winemaker's Notes:

The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon is big and lush with huge gobs of fruit in the aroma and flavor. The texture of the wine is soft and supple, typical of Cabernet Sauvignons grown in Groth's area of the Oakville AVA. Patience during bottle aging will reward the "steward" with an outstanding bottle over the next 10 to 15 years.

"I enjoy a glass of Oakville Cabernet with a grass-fed, roasted New York steak and a potato-butternut squash gratin."
- Kimball Jones, Culinary Director

"Slow-evolving bouquet of black cherry and plum. Rich stone stone fruit flavors with obvious wood tannins and minerals at the core. Still rather compact and slow to open, but this tasty, young Cab will certainly reward the patient."

About Groth Vineyards & Winery:

Groth Vineyards and Winery was established in 1982 in Oakville, California by Dennnis and Judy Groth. The Groths own 120 acres of vineyards in Oakville, located in the heart of the Napa Valley, an appellation well known for its Cabernet Sauvignon. It is here that their estate Cabernet Sauvignon is grown. In addition, the Groths own 44 acres south of Yountville in the Napa Valley. From this vineyard the winery obtains its Chardonnay and Merlot grapes.
